The Rearms doesn't do anything in Windows 8. You can rearm as often as you want, but you will be always in Notification mode.
I deleted the Ent and use pro (I keep the Ent store folder, just in case, haha), for a very simple reason: by the time I get my key, one way or another, it will be a pro key, and my win8 will grow so much that I would hate to reinstall again. All I need to do is to enter the pro key and activate it.
But only Windows 8 Pro have retail keys. Windows 8 Enterprise is a volume license only version. Am I correct?
re-Without clearing KMS Server the system at regular intervals connect to the Server to prove activation. In case of no response it seems to deactivate. Only hope is a new Server. According to the firewall in AVG internet security 2012, windows tries to connect to an activaiton host everytime I start windows 8. I'm going to block it when I finally get it activated so that it will stay activated.
Yea, right... That's why I chosen Pro version since no volume license provided on my MSDNAA account Note : Enterprise can be activated through VLSC and normally for corporation, not personal, and must be extended each 180 days
Thats not true. It will stay activated until the 180 days expires, even if the server is online or not.
So what additional features are in Windows 8 Pro that's not available in Windows 8 Enterprise? I am using VLC just fine in Enterprise playing all kinds of videos. I think the additional features on Pro are just junk or spamware that I couldn't care less about. I went for Enterprise because I am keen to try out Windows To Go workspaces. The problem is, I bought a 32GB SanDisk USB Flash Drive that does not work at all with Windows To Go. Totally disappointed. Someone here said you have to have a special Kingston USB Flash Drive to work with Windows To Go. I think something's wrong with Windows To Go not being a universal feature. Just to confirm, when you activate Windows 8 Pro with the KMS Server, does it also have the 180 days expiration? Or does it activate forever? If it does activate forever, that might be the one reason most people are using Windows 8 Pro.
Pro version can be both Volume or Retail License, and Enterprise is only Volume License Retail will give permanent activation since it's for personal Volume will give only 180 days and can be extended as long as the corporation still have contract with VLSC All I can say that Pro version is more flexible
You know what's funny? I did this activation, but I still plan on paying the $40 for it, because it's cheap and I like the comfort and peace of mind that comes with knowing nothing can ever happen to my installation. I like this OS that much. It's a steal for $40.
I can't connect Gogoservers : amsterdam.freenet6.net, montreal.freenet6.net, broker.freenet6.net or sydney.freenet6.net View attachment 16645
