Enterprise is not a retail product. It can only be activated with KMS keys or MAK keys. The MAK activation count depends on your VL agreement with Microsoft.

Retail for technet/MSDN is 10 machines per key

Retail for people who buy it in stores is 1 machine.

The thing is if you hit the limit, you just call MS' automated activation number(See activation wizard for call options).
You talk to a machine, and you won't get in trouble since they don't really check that.
    It will only work if:
    1. Key is not blacklisted(EG leaked on the internet)
    2. It is not a key supplied to certain companies(OEM/Retail/MSDN work).
Done it multiple times, from back in the Windows XP days and also at my previous place which was a retail PC store and sometimes you have to change so much hardware it becomes a different machine for MS.
MS really just makes it hard for a start, and for the really really retarded home users.
They only go after companies that sell pirated windows, or large businesses that don't have the right licenses, they don't go after home users because that would honestly be bad for their business(It only costs money and they will have a huge RIAAesque blacklash).

Windows 8 (RTM) evaluation for developers

This evaluation provides a 90-day trial of Windows 8 Enterprise edition. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available as ISO images in the following languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, English (UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. In order to use this evaluation, you must register and the product must be activated online with Microsoft-hosted activation and validation services. Microsoft does not provide technical support for this software.

That has a forced timebomb though, will stop working completely after 90 days and you will need to reinstall to get rid of it.

So far it seems KMS is the only working solution, perhaps someone will make an KMS Emulator like WZOR did for Windows 7.

Ever read a software EULA...? One never legally owns software. At least if the EULA holds up!

As for the SHA1 mismatch, well, it's disturbing. Considering how much modification is possible using widely available tools, I think some paranoia is certainly called-for in this case.

I am a bit short on bandwidth, atm, so I cannot check this for a few days, but I think it would be useful to check install.wim and boot.wim hashes. If *those* mismatch, then, well, I would suggest system wipes, myself.

Anyway, I have the suppesdly-leaked RTM, so here are the SHA1s for it:

    37E9B9BEC93BCA7BFB0D50095524FDABF44BD456 *install.wim
    18C45BFAD5742AE2EAA0F7AE6A9AD4E7C57C194F *boot.wim

BTW, I've dealt with WZOR ISOs before. They *always* matched official ISOs, in the past.

With the 90 day Enterprise trial, once the 90 days are up, what would happen if you choose "Remove Everything and Reinstall Windows" from the Metro settings menu?

Will it let you do it and give another 90 days ? or Will the preset key still phone home and expire ?

Things to know before installing Windows 8 Enterprise evaluation

    · The evaluation edition will expire and cannot be upgraded.
    · To upgrade, the evaluation must be uninstalled and a non-evaluation version of Windows must be re-installed from your original installation media.
    · Consider running the evaluation edition in a virtual environment
or installing on a separate hard drive or partition. This will allow you to upgrade your original Windows installation to Windows 8.
    · Back up your files and settings before installing this evaluation and again prior to the 90-day expiration.
    · Upon installation, you will have 10 days to activate this evaluation online. Windows will prompt you to activate. A product key is not required for this software.
    · You must complete activation before August 15, 2013, to use this evaluation.
    · Once you activate, you have up to 90 days to use the software. You can track the amount of time you have left by referring to the “watermark” in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop.

So Better option is " KMS "
