No it is just getting to be a bother answering the same questions over and over "ineedh3lp" Your question is fine, sorry if I came out the wrong way. I host a private KMS server and a link to a public KMS server. And the dumb questions that some ask when it has been answered gets me going.
Why they do it - that's easy - they do it for their own internal users, but screw up and leave it open to the entire internet. The folks at Creighton haven't figured out their mistake in the last two weeks.
A little bit off topic: Just downloaded the latest official update from MS 163MB for 64, restarted and no problem with activation
Cool What was in the update for 163MB I wonder. I just check my update and nothing there. I did get one on 10/08/2012 (KB2751352) What is the "KB number" for the update you got Paul
After 6 months of KMS activation and it expires, exactly what commands would then need to be run? (assuming KMS server is available)
same as today if the server is the same. If the server address has changed, you simply enter the new address next year ... lol
KB2756872? Have fun with it. It updates uxinit.dll and uxtheme.dll to b16420, so custom themes are gone after update again... :/
Premised you deleted kms host adress: Code: cscript slmgr.vbs /skms kms.host.ip cscript slmgr.vbs /ato If you deleted key too, you have to enter it again first. Code: cscript slmgr.vbs /ipk YOUR-KEY-HERE-XXXXX That simple . Regards
currently having fun with it on 7 machines. Where is your problem? The first ones rebooted properly without any issues
If they do it for internal users, it's funny how they do not have a firewall to block access to IP ranges outside their turf. Also, isn't it risky to access that server? I mean what if they keep access logs?
