the Readme.pdf need a correction must be SoftwareProtectionPlatform (i think) any "super" easy way ???
How these token files we are replacing, are they the same files that are used for activation in windows 8? Just wondering because you can just use the available activation backup software thats out on the forum now to restore using these files. Makes it alot easier
Here is backed up activation from my Win8 Pro KMS, just restore it as you would normally restore activation. Also inside there is .txt file with correct machine id for VirtualBox, client count is also boosted to 25, hope this part got backed up as well... View attachment 18199
So the trick that FreeStyler posted would not work? 1> Clean install Win7 (KMS Capable) Using The Default Key as for Retail (Important you do not try KMS @ this point) 2> Enable the "Administrator" Account and do not set a password (to bypass UAC and Run as admin) 3> Log-On to "Administrator" and Create a Script with the following in the Start-Up folder: @echo off cls echo Starting Windows volume activation... Please wait as this might take several minutes... echo. cscript //B "%windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /ipk GVLK-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX cscript //B "%windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /skms your.server.iport cscript //B "%windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /ato 4> Delete the Temp windows Account you created during installation of Windows (to ensure windows log-on screen does not pause @ boot) 5> Re-Arm (slmgr -rearm) 6> Shutdown the Virtual Machine 7> Create a snapshot of the Virtual Machine (I named mine "Default_Administrator_AutoKMS_Rearm_Shutdown") Start Virtual Machine Wait for the Command Prompt window to disappear Revert to Previous Snapshot Start Virtual Machine Wait for the Command Prompt window to disappear etc. etc.
You have any tips on how to automate this process? would be very helpful in keeping the count up. I have like 15 physical machines i can keep activated, but the remaining 10 will have to be done with "fake" VM's
One other option could be: An user creates the image and makes it live, using his residential IP (using no-ip or something else) and then shares the IP here. The 25 minimum clients would be reached very fast
lol ... considering all this, I stick with mooo or with my Technet and Dreamspark keys this 30 day thing is really annoying but make sense in any way as MS thinks about it
You have no idea what you're talking about! You purchase a key from Microsoft and in no way is it tied to a specific machine. Wow RTFM is getting old.
Thanks for efforts of genius persons Can someone post a complete guide in single post to get the job done on Windows 7 or 8 client?
