so?? between , KMS and client once a day & run it every ~180d (in ~45min 0->25 reached ) i choose the second because i used for personal use NOT public
As said before, once a day keeps the troubles away . BTW is this new with windows 8 or was it this way with win 7 and vista as well (I mean the have to have 25 clients activate every 30 days or it will go down thing)
You have to either run the client once a day to activate, or run 25 clients before end of month. You choose
nothing will happen to the server itself. The problem is that all thoes KMS activations you did (the 25), will be lost. That is why we say just run the client to your VM client to your KMS server once a day and you will be ok
And what happens if you have to re-install oh your client machines? If you run the client VM once a day with an automated script the count will ALWAYS be > 25. So if you re-install you don't have to worry about backing up tokens, just activate via the KMS server and all is well, no need to spend 45 mins boosting the count every time you need to activate.
I turned off UAC and took ownership of the pkeyconfig files and overwrote them from within Windows. Now as far as upping the count, I am a little confused on the next step. Right now I have my VM Win7 kms host activated and have a count of 1 by using my Win 8 install. Do I need to install another VM and take a snapshop of that to increase my count to 25.
I have a Windows server 2012 running 24/7. Is it possible to install the kms server on it to activate my and my friends windows 8 computers?
If you read past posts about this. You would see that this will only work on Win7 Pro/Win8 Pro. This will not work on Servers. Thanks
I was referring to a windows 7 install in hyper v so as it can be running 24/7 sorry for any confusion
