So all I have to do is download that magnet file, edit that file on the desktop of that client then have both running and bam im good to go?
Nearly that easy. Worst part is waiting for the download so far. At least 3 hours with 600 kB/s for me. Don´t forget to change network to nat. Power on both. IF ASKED CHOSE "MOVED" THIS MACHINE. Start aktivekms-script after editing prepare-script. Checked twice with reverting a snapshot to one of my test-hosts, after nearly half an hour running both in background, task is fullfilled . Did´t check the possibility of sharing these file only for useage in another win 7 client. Would be a smaller download.
Your lucky, I have 5 hours just for the KMS LOL. Once KMS is downloaded will start on the client since count is already at 50 . So both VM's are setup and ready to go (other then that editing)?
Rest is working properly for me. That package from magnet link includes both, a host and a client, each with a size of 3 GB. Host has already reached 50 attempts and is fully loaded for the moment. Only had some slight problems to get that automated client part running at first.
UNRELATED QUESTION: If I want to use my KMS publicly, is there a way to do that? I am going thru a router. I remember along time ago a service that I could use but I dont know if it is available anymore and if it is I forgot the name LOL. Can anyone help me out?
I know that but what I mean is there a service that will provide me a static IP address that people can access my KMS service even if my ISP IP changes?
something like dyndns.com, no-ip.com, dnsdynamic.org, zoneedit.com... much more to choose from, simply google for 'Dynamic DNS Service'
And i presume lets say i use no-ip.com. for my kms server it would be something like "lunar21.no-ip.com:1688" ?
Is 25 machines threshold stored in that files too? If so, how useful is this backup, when data is time related. Premised it´s working, what happens, if backup is restored in more than 30 days? Will the count expire due to there were no activation attempts by unlicensed machines during that time span? Regards
