To Schedule Automatic Task Replace with: set X=26 Or any value for X you like. Doesn't seem to be required on Windows 7 Pro?

You are right. It doesn't have anything to do with localhost. We use VM, coz hardware change means deactivation. Besides, reproducing the same hardware seems impractical for a real machine, we can easily reproduce the same VM.
I was getting the below info after trying to install kms on a win 7 pro vm and also from the downloaded kms. Windows Script Host --------------------------- Name: Windows(R) 7, Professional edition Description: Windows Operating System - Windows(R) 7, VOLUME_KMS_W8 channel Partial Product Key: B4W3F License Status: Additional grace period (KMS license expired or hardware out of tolerance) Time remaining: 43200 minute(s) (30 day(s)) --------------------------- OK So I installed the supplied player on a different computer and all worked well. I wonder if the slic injected vmware bios had anything to do with that problem?
Correction to original PDF You don't need to replace pkeyconfig.xrm-ms. If you install KB2757817 over Windows 7 Professional SP1 you already get this file. Indeed pkeyconfig.xrm-ms tells windows what keys can be installed using slmgr /ipk. If you try to install a Win8 CSVLK before KB2757817 you will get an error. It is because pkeyconfig.xrm-ms is changed during the installation. So basically if you are doing this RIGHT, you already have a correct pkeyconfig.xrm-ms. Here is the details for this file: CRC32: 2EF6806E MD5: E02D88CD9FDEB6272F2EB861F78354A3 SHA1: 5989C16D90CDEB96FA2DEE0F741226EBBE07AC48
read page 1 and try the server there. It might be, that this new test machine is currently overloaded or simply off
