I did and it works great under VMWare workstation/player, so I agree... I already have a dedicated ESX server running and Vbox (backup) running inside my file server, dont want to run a third application somewhere else just to run VMWare Worstation/player. and Already have Windows 7 KMS working on both just fine.. its just a matter of a challenge to make the Win 8 KMS working . Cheers!
Based on the guide I am looking at, that answer would be no. This guide was all written up assuming Windows 7 as host, however. Additional Requirement VMWare: Add/replace the following line to the created VM *.vmx file Code: uuid.bios = "56 4d 81 c6 cd 3a d8 e4-db 29 75 6d f1 39 ac b9" Additional Requirement VirtualBox: replace the 'Machine uuid' to the created VM *.vbox file as well as in the VirtualBox.xml file (VirtualBox.xml is typically located in 'C:\Users\%USERNAME%\.VirtualBox') Code: Machine uuid="{83e2aa4e-9e58-4cb1-af96-5a8c2fb40232}"
I already tried the information from the .pdf guide, the uuid listed did not work for me since it was listed for Windows 7... since the uuid have the same amount the letter/numbers, just the '-' are located differently so I was wondering maybe...
