View attachment 18617 Does this means activated ? I tried server in some lads signature and like this activation will be for 30 days? as KMS is not permanent correct?
Hello gentlemen, greetings to all. There are rumors that after activating the w8 for 180 days by a KMS server. You go to this page: windows.microsoft.com/es-ES/windows-8/feature-packs ... (Adds Pro Pack or Windows 8 Media Center Windows 8 Pack to your Windows edition) was delivering mail to Microsoft and they sent a key that leaves the system permanently activated. We did a test mailing false and actually sent me the key. now it appears to have been permanently activated. but I have my doubts about that, anyone has heard anything about it? thanks and regards.
I presume this "lad" is me. Well if you can provide your PC name I will check my logs and see if you were sent activation, thanks
Hello. If I manage to activate W8 using one of the available KMS servers, do I have to activate it everytime when Windows starts? Also, will Windows stay activated if the KMS server I used falls down? In short, I activate for 180 days and it will stay activated for that period even if there are no available KMS servers?
Your windows is valid for 180 no matter what, even if the server goes down. You do not have to activate everytime windows starts, as i just said it is good for 180 days. It "talks" to the KMS server every 7 days. If it can talk to it, it renews your activation back to 180 days .
1. You need to reactivate before 180 days only. 2. Windows will remain activated. 3. It will stay activated even no KMS server is available within 180 days.
You can increase that on your server with slmgr.vbs /sri 43200 (which will set the interval to 30 day's, instead of the 7 day's)
activate you client again because once client contacts a KMS host, the KMS host setting will override the local client setting. This commands will not work on Client activated through KMS. Only for host
So my understanding is that the server tells the client when to ask again. OK I simply must get the way it is done. learning is most of the life ...
Yes... & Run both commands if you don't want after 30 days client to recheck for activation every 2 hours. slmgr /sai 43200 slmgr /sri 43200 Explore this path on client before & after making changes on client HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\
so when will be 180 it show me warning that it s not acticated ? or i think that on 2014 will be normal crack
agree, but I turn my w8 as I was taught here by kms only server that I appeared before missing 180 days and now after using the key sent by Microsoft tells me that the system is permanently activated (not shown 180 days).
If not doing major hardware changes (CPU, Board and Disks) system is permanently activated. Backup with ATM and build yourself a Windows 8 Pro WMC ISO. For more information see second link in my signature . Regards
so can i activate via this 1. slmgr.vbs -ipk (key from MS free key for media center) 2. slmgr /skms server 3. slmgr /ato ? cos i have this free key but i dont want this s.. media center !!! so what do you do ? or change windows key in activation to this free key ?
On client pc: After manual activation you can run: slmgr /ckms This command clears the kms hostname Windows will not check anything.
@sukinsin88: That's the way I wanted to do it as well. It's not possible. (1) You need to have Windows 8 Pro (non-VL), or else you won't have the "add features" button. (2) After clicking that button, WMC is automatically added, the key is only valid on this new W8ProWMC! (3) After that, you can save the activation files (ATM). (4) If you don't want to go through this whole shebang on a next install, then you can use the new ambidav "Win8ProWMC" iso to install, and activate with the saved activation in (3)
