Well I can't quite believe that M$ is allowing a completely free full and permanent activation of Win 8 Pro WMC. I just did a completely clean install of Win 8 Pro WMC on a Dell laptop and immediately entered the free WMC key (that M$ sent through their current offer) in the "activate with a new key" box and voila - it is now 100% permanently activated legitimately... I know this is only a brief offer from M$ but I would have thought they could surely check to see if the OS was active first before entering the WMC key or flag up the fact that you weren't able to actually get a completely free Win 8 Pro WMC OS from them? M$ never cease to amaze?
This report interests me a lot. Those of us who tried a clean install of Pro WMC from the DVD in the AIO thread found that it does not accept the WMC key, at least not without some trickery. Could you please say what was the source of your Pro WMC, and did you have to apply some tricks?
I downloaded this iso name removed which is an AIO and selected to install the Win 8 Pro WMC x86. No trickery was applied after install. I just used the free WMC key.
i think yes after install free key win is perm activated i think that that key is only for media center to installed mcenter but how act windows 8 enterprise permanently?
Thanks for the info. I suspect that this AIO may contain added licence files for the ProWMC, I will try to have a look. Edit: Ok, so nothing to see here either
