I'm sorry, but was there also a problem with Vbox and Windows 7? For me, the only problem was with (portble) Vbox with Windows 8 and Windows Embedded 7. Sorry if I missed something.
I will have a look at it tomorrow (I don't have my VM host PC available right now). BTW, in my msg 4246 I wanted to type "Windows 7", but initially forgot the "7". Please read my edited msg.
Not sure about the version of Windows 7 you have but the ATM Backup is included which will work for Win7/Pro/Ent/32/64. You will need .NET 4 and the KB update. Edit the config.ini
Lets try keep Q&A to a minimum and wait for the resurrection of the thread. Need some sleep. cheers Just finished testing activation restore on Win8 Pro 64bit (Original ATM was on Win8 Ent 32bit edit config.ini, Remember Pro not Professional) Works fine and I changed the NIC. To install 64 bit on the supplied Appliance you just need to change the version in the settings to 64 bit. Also for those of you that didn't note it Windows 8 in a VM requires the Processor to have Hardware Assisted Virtualisation on the VM Host. You can't also run to VM Hosts on one PC without disabling one eg. Hyper-V and then try start VBox on your server. I am really going to bed now. Cheers
Leaving my KMS Server open to the public for the next 24 hours or so...have tested it over the internet and everything appears to work just fine. 75.64.218.110:1688 View attachment 18745 Make sure your time zone is configured properly as usual. I'm in CST time zone, which is -06:00 I believe.
It's hard work to create a server? Interested in the idea. Edit: tested now in VMware and activated 75.64.218.110:1688 working
I used the magnet link posted earlier in this thread that was 256MB in size...just had to run two virtual machines using VMWare Player, and use the Charge VM to get the activations past 25 for the KMS server. It's going to be hosted on my WHS 2011 box.
This is my config, Windows 7 pro KMS Host VM uuid = 83e2aa4e-9e58-4cb1-af96-5a8c2fb40232 VHD uuid = 8cf5e015-7d07-4c32-8b72-f026a83a3ba1 Code: "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" internalcommands sethduuid "FILENAME.VHD" 8cf5e015-7d07-4c32-8b72-f026a83a3ba1 you have to change the above VM uuid and VHD uuid in the *.vbox file (2x) after changing it I have no problems activating Win7 KMS Host on VirtualBox 4.2.x using above settings and the original supplied (BenSaunders) tokens.dat Sure, but restoring a backup now, will result in another 200+ new topics to disappear
Many thanks to apex2000. I should mention that I was able to recover the first page of [HOW-TO] KMS-HOST Setup and Charge. (Last edited by s1ave77; Yesterday at 16:25.) by right-clicking on the Firefox back button until I saw the opening page that I had been viewing sometime earlier yesterday, I guess. When I clicked on that page it returned in full.
I got the server working in the portable vbox by using only this uuid {83e2aa4e-9e58-4cb1-af96-5a8c2fb40232} But, it doesn't work with the wes7, I think maybe it needs two uuid. I might give it a go again when I have the time. I am wondering, if office 2013 host key is leaked, the wes7 won't make use of it right? If that's the case, I will stick to the super size fix lol.
