Windows 8 KMS Activation

It's hard work to create a server?
Interested in the idea.

Edit: tested now in VMware and activated 75.64.218.110:1688 working

 

I used the magnet link posted earlier in this thread that was 256MB in size...just had to run two virtual machines using VMWare Player, and use the Charge VM to get the activations past 25 for the KMS server. It's going to be hosted on my WHS 2011 box.

This is my config, Windows 7 pro KMS Host
VM uuid = 83e2aa4e-9e58-4cb1-af96-5a8c2fb40232
VHD uuid = 8cf5e015-7d07-4c32-8b72-f026a83a3ba1

Code:

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" internalcommands sethduuid "FILENAME.VHD" 8cf5e015-7d07-4c32-8b72-f026a83a3ba1

you have to change the above VM uuid and VHD uuid in the *.vbox file (2x) after changing it
I have no problems activating Win7 KMS Host on VirtualBox 4.2.x using above settings and the original supplied (BenSaunders) tokens.dat

Sure, but restoring a backup now, will result in another 200+ new topics to disappear

I should mention that I was able to recover the first page of
[HOW-TO] KMS-HOST Setup and Charge. (Last edited by s1ave77; Yesterday at 16:25.)
by right-clicking on the Firefox back button until I saw the opening page that I had been viewing sometime earlier yesterday, I guess. When I clicked on that page it returned in full.

 

I got the server working in the portable vbox by using only this uuid {83e2aa4e-9e58-4cb1-af96-5a8c2fb40232}

But, it doesn't work with the wes7, I think maybe it needs two uuid. I might give it a go again when I have the time.

I am wondering, if office 2013 host key is leaked, the wes7 won't make use of it right? If that's the case, I will stick to the super size fix lol.

 

@apex2000 this apply only on Enterprise not on pro?

To be more precise on the first page recovery, this is what I did:

1) Right click on the Firefox back button & check the list of previous page views on the [HOW-TO] KMS-HOST Setup and Charge topic.
2) If the first page is not shown, then click on the last page item in the that previous-page list.
3) Then repeat step 1 to get an earlier list of page visits, & again view the list of previous pages to see if the first page is shown.

 

Is the VHD KMS host only for windows client ? Is there a local activation method for Server 2008/12 aswell ?
