Windows 8 KMS Activation

How to determine if the activation code for Windows 8 temporary or permanent

 

Will only be permanent with your own Retail-Key, as WMC-Key is, or MAK. KMS is allways time limited (180 days).

 

control panel - system - next to windows is activated click and find a new window where you can see either your system is permanently activated or it has a limited time frame of 180 days

 

Or simply input:

slmgr /xpr

into an elevated CMD.

 

so permanent only means 180 days ? with out your own Retail-Key

 

Yes,180 days if you activated using KMS.
If you used your own retail key,it is permanent.

 

what's the procedure to re-activate before the 180 days run out ?....don't think iv seen this asked before.

 

Use KMS server if any or download the MicroKMS and activate.

 

I'm sure this was answered many times but here is one again: If you feel like activating every day, you can do it or latest after 180 days which will get you the new 180 day period. Every activation gets you +180 days from the day you do it

 

How would you write a batch file or script to auto activate by KMS silently each boot?
Is this possible without seeing any dialog boxes?

 

I think this note should be added to the first page just as an extra NOTE, it seems obvious but for new people that are trying to get info inside these 462 pages can help to clear the water (just saying...) ..

Yes, I have, but some times more concise/simple wording is better to understand when they go straight to the point and clear people questions when they are looking for a simple answer. Some have a good grasp of this and experience, for some is the first time doing it..

I don't think this is possible without the final " successfully activated" dialog box - but I bow to greater knowledge

 

It´s possible doing this without popups. If you use

slmgr /ato

you will get a popup, with

Code:

cscript slmgr.vbs /ato

output will stay in CMD-Window.

Only spamming servers with attemps . Afaik no overactivation possible.

 

overspamming MDL is more dangerous than overactivatiing an OS (which is impossible).
