Yep, you´re right. Shame on the uploader not to mention this and claiming permanent activation though. Not giving credits is really bad behavior . EDIT: At least it´s better to download this from it´s source .
*Sigh. It's really sad that most people don't even realize what they install on their systems. And these redistributed versions often contain malware that won't do their system any good. I've learned a long time ago to find the source of any application I use. Most of the time I ended up here in MDL though
Yep, when looking for the best tools in windows and office activation context, proper search will lead you here .
Lets get this straight. I haven't downloaded it as I have no intention of using Windows 8, nor did I upload it, write it or have anything to do with it. I think that's about as obvious as I can make it.
Ok, so mine was originally activated on the 1st of Nov and after a reinstall in December, restored activation through ATM. As you'd expect, it still said - "Activated on 1st Nov". Now a few days back, I noticed that slui says "Activated on 22nd Jan '13" without anything on my part So can anybody hazard a guess as to what might have happened? Does it install a service/task that periodically checks for legit activation status? I couldn't find any either in services.msc or the Task Scheduler Library > Windows Activation Technologies. EDIT: Win8 Pro WMC activated firstly through KMS (Pro) and then upgraded to WMC with MS E-Mailed key
That is pretty strange bro. Have you tried re-restoring it? Like as an experiment... to see if it does that again. If it does do that again, MS may be playing big brother here...

Umm ... hell no I'm not jeopardizing my activation "for the sake of science" EDIT: Any idea as to where I can check the logs to get a pointer maybe?
So very easy to restore 100% if the other method does not work... 1. I used Acronis 2013 to make a full image.... 2. I use A Token backup and restore program to make a Token Restore Backup.... 3. used Script to remove key.... 4. popup lower right corner says Activation needed.... 5. Media Center failed... 6. restored using Token backup-restore program.... 7. popup gone, 8. reboot Activation intact 9. WMC intact and working .... ***************************** rebooted back to Win 8 Enterprise ... dual boot system ....
Activation is just 2 files in the store directory, tokens.dat and data.dat Explorer.exe checks those 2 files every so often and will null your activation if they do not match your hardware. I think that using the data.dat from the kms activated data.dat bypass might be the cause of the re-activation attempt. It's kinda like a frankenstien activation. It's not supposed to have the data.dat from kms activation with a tokens.dat from retail activation. I'm not sure at all, but that's my hunch. The reason I say this is because supposedly about 30 days after activating on most kms online servers, it will try to re-activate. That's not the default setting, the default is 7 days, but I've read in a few places that most use 30 day re-activation. Make sure to back up your activation with the Advanced Tokens Manager from the mdl projects page. It just copies the 2 activation files and the product key into a backup directory, but it automates the restore by shutting off net and killing any sppsvc before copying them over.
One question, please! I activate W8 with KMS Nano. If I want permanent activation, did I must hit Trigger.exe or trigger.cmd like admin?
No, I want activate W8 with trigger every 6 months. That's why I ask about hit Trigger.exe or trigger.cmd like admin... slave 77, I saw now, thank you.
