You can install the Office 2013 KMS Host package just like you did in Windows 8.

If someone makes a KMS v6 emulator by then, sure. Otherwise nope.

To all those who're currently using 8.1 (no matter which version) - how have you managed to activate the OS? Are there any user-created KMS servers handling the new V6 protocol?

I'm still on Windows 8.0 and am planning to install the 8.1 update once it gets delivered through Windows Store. What will happen when I install it? Windows will deactivate itself? Will I manage to activate it again afterwards using the same Command Prompt method?

I installed Pro with the key's provided with the available image file, then imported my legit Windows 8 Pro key, and did phone activation from there, all activated now.

One thought that since RTM 8.1 has been out since august, that KMS v6 would be taken care of by now. Seems like we should not hold our breath...

KMS version 6 is a much bigger beast than KMSv5 is from what everyone can tell so far. The differences between the two version are pretty vast and have a lot more security measures in place, so everyone will be waiting for quite a bit until the underground community can dissect and unravel the measures MS has put into place.

So we should have a workaround by the end of week then. ;-)

Those of us already running an KMS virtual machine, is it just a case of installing the 8.1 KMS update patch and then changing to a new KMS host key (if and when one leaks)?

Or is it likely to be more of a completely new VM install?

That's my understanding, apply the patch and new csvlk key, reboot and you have a nicely recycled VM... and that's probably what we'll see well before we get any tiny packaged tools like mtk or pico.

ETA????... no one really knows (except K.B. Alexander ;)

It's not so simple. A leaked CSVLK would be pretty much unusable, as it would be quickly blocked. So you wouldn't be able to apply it to your VM host and activate it.

What we would need is for someone who has a CSVLK to not share the key, but instead to create VMs for the popular hypervisors (Hyper-V, VMWare, VirtualBox) and share the activation tokens instead of the key. We could then insert those tokens in our own VMs and attain activated status. This was the procedure last year.

    ^^^

We think many around here do some token, any tokens shown up yet? From what I remember, that was the start last time and backup and restore is now not a problem, correct? Only a matter of time we guess, ones here should not just want to deliver to the masses but also the ones that enjoy the process more than the OS. Oh I sure look forward to half a start menu back LOL, Windows 7 64 will be known as the next XP .... from those who said mp3 will start bands touring again.

    Regards

    Hi fellow MDL members,

Keeping in view the previous patterns of Windows operating systems' activation solutions (kms or others) do you think we would see some activation solutions (kms or others) for Windows 8.1 by November? Kindly inform your views.
