Does my KMS activation need to expire before I re-activate my Win 8 Pro (virtual machine I use for testing) using KMS, or can I re-activate now with a 180 days from today's date (KMS activation should expire around Jan. 15)?

Also, does the Microsoft Toolkit still work for my version, or do I need to use a working KMS server known?

 

You can reactivate in advance. It just gives you another 180 days before it expires.
Which version of MTK are you using? MTK 2.4.9 will NOT work for 8.1 or Office 13 on 8.1.

There's no warning. Windows will remind you when activation expires; you can reactivate after that.

So which version of Windows 8.1 is the best? i.e. most features or future proof? read that some versions dont have wmc. Is that a big deal?
