Enlight us... what pointfull discussion can we have now? KMS = pointless, loader = pointless, hardware id mod = pointless.. what is left now?
KMS & Loaders are not pointless. All 100 is saying, and it was what I was getting at in my post before is that people are suggesting ideas which simply will not work - on the basis of their simplicity - they would have been done already if it was that easy. We all need to get some perspective on this - Windows 8 is not out yet! October 26th is the launch date. As the weeks go by, there will be more and more stuff hitting the net which will be of interest. Until we at least see some legitimate activations, and a possibility of leaked KMS keys to look over then we should at least be happy we have Windows 8 RTM to test for now. At the end of the day, if you have the x86 version installed, you can even stop the activation watermark from annoying you with the guides in this forum so it's not the end of the world.
Well... just reinstalled Release Preview... Will the KMS Servers ever come back online? I've been watching this thread for 4 days now... and the servers are still offline... I'll just stick to RP until a new server is up...
Or maybe none at all being any sysadmin with half a brain would hide their KMS servers behind a VPN so you would have to authenticate to said VPN before you could activate over the internet.
Lets not disparage sysadmins with half a brain, if not for them we wouldn't be activated.. lol Reminds me of the jelly donut scene in Full Metal Jacket, "if it weren't for d**kheads like you there'd be no thievery in this world."
Let's see: The RTM will only work for 30 days with no activation, and the 1000 rearm counts are useless since there's no grace period; Both KMS Servers are down; And no new servers appeared.... What else did i miss?
Activation with Release Preview key. Well, this may sound really dumb... but has anyone tried to activate the Pro RTM with the Release Preview key? Since the RP is also Professional Edition.
The RTM will work, untill MS puts an end to it, which nobody can tell right now. So the 30 days was the case with Windows 7; not for the RTM!
