Keeps the licensed until date the same I imagine? This is good to know regardless, will make backing up activations for Win8 very easy, thank you. This will no doubt save my legit keys from tons of re-activations.
If i re-install the windows the whole processe will activate? Cause now it isnt working and giving me an error.
The first very first post should include that users should accommodate their timezone (the country where they live) and then adjust the the correct time by a timeserver before trying to activate. Because it is the most common error showing up that Windows is not activated. Just to avoid more useless posts.
I tried copying these folders after taking ownership. But its giving me error. Can anybody tell me how to backup these folders
I saw on win7vista PAYMYRENT made another token restore maybe I will repost it.. it just does what your saying.. makes a backup of the activation files... I think ithe windows 7 one is still around here.. maybe search PAYMYRENT for it...
This works for me. Code: cmd /c echo D | xcopy "C:\Windows\System32\spp\store" "C:\Backup\Windows\System32\spp\store" /R /H /Y cmd /c echo D | xcopy "C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WSLicense" "C:\Backup\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WSLicense" /R /H /Y I attached a simple CMD script to automate backing up tokens, adding the key and applying the KMS commands. Edit the top of the script to a different kms server if it changes and add more keys for the various editions as they surface. This is a simple script, but will help help someone im sure. as I know the dev of the token restore programs for win 7 and 8 he always tells me to add Code: sc stop sppsvc to my batch commands.. sppsvc locks tokens.dat and prevents it from being copied... and just to let you all know you only need tokens.dat and your product key to make a back up not that whole folder.. and attached is his offering... enjoy
The port may be open but we do not know if the server can activate Windows 8 clients, it is entirely possible that it is a KMS server for activating Windows 7 clients.
