Just reading through the comments. I thought it might be of benefit to mention that there is no need to change your time zone in order to get the time sync to work. People seem to think it needs to be set to Paris or some stupid s**t. Here is my question - am i able to have both my windows 8 and windows 7 registered on the same computer? When i activate windows 8, windows 7 becomes unactivated, and i'm guessing the opposite works similar, though i haven't really tested, and wont till i know i can activate windows 8 again. Though i'm not sure why i want windows 8 - I don't have graphic drivers for it, so it's a little limited...
i dont really understand why timezone is related to the activation or... dns, icmp, pinging ip's for example... I have never change time zone from windows 98 until now, and activation was working as should... No strange problems, no out of sync (since im using local ntp servers from universities from my country). Its one of the weird things i guess... (like magician health potions ) @Poopoo 1)am i able to have both my windows 8 and windows 7 registered on the same computer? ofcourse you have both them activated... 2) When i activate windows 8, windows 7 becomes unactivated Its not true that.
I'm not sure on the time sync either, or why it should matter. People mentioned doing it though. I fresh installed windows 8 pro, which set up the time and everything, and instantly attempted activation - It didn't work. I re-synced my time, and it worked. Could have been my second attempt at activating would have worked regardless, but idk. Seemed to have mattered. Question about your windows 7 - is it genuine? I have cracked windows 7 as well, and its been working fine till i changed those settings in windows 8. I'm sure i could configure it to have the same settings as my windows 8 machine and activate both. But i'll wait till i can confirm another working kms activator.
i think with your second time sync, it was pure luck, or just happened. Many times we are trying to do something in multiple repeatable times, and then, magic, working! Time zone, sync, etc needing deep investigation for the proofs if is related to the activation. Anyway. Windows 7 has activated with genuine key which i have pay legally from a store, and windows 8 is activated from the public ipv6 kms server (not legally) which was online before some minutes ago. Both them working ok and is activated. (I have dual boot, windows 8 and windows 7)
The KMS host refuses to activate clients if the clock is off more than 4 hours, so date and time needs to be set correctly. Time zone doesn't really matter because local times in different time zones translate to the same time in UTC anyway. If you have an incorrect time zone set, however, and you manually adjust the system time to display the local time the clock (converted to UTC) is obviously going to be off. People want to be told what to do instead of thinking for themselves and applying common sense.
What the hell? I just activated my other Desktop computer about 2 hrs ago and I'm getting error trying to apply it to my laptop. Not working on the laptop. I don't even have a clue.
Can anyone Give me a Backup of ur Enterprise X64 Licence?? I want to try editing the file, if anything workout, i will let knw all. If u dont like to Post ur Backup License Public, Just PM me pls.
this only happened to me when i had both win8 rtm and win7 ultimate on the same hard drive, but when i install either on a seperate hard drive, they both stay activated
The win7 Loader put something in the boot sector to emulate the BIOS SLIC, when you install win8, it replaces the win7 boot manager, and the emulation too.
You don't need your clock set to paris or any crazy thing like that, you do however need to ensure your clock is on the right time for your local time zone to activate, this has been the case forever.
Can anyone guide me to what page in the topic I can find out how to take advantage of the IPv6 activation? or just plainly how to do it? I have one Pc fully working(from before the KMs servers went down) and my laptop is still suffering as crippled little portable machine. I just need a little nudge in the right direction.
very true i like the old Win 7 bootloader it is faster + when using Win 8 bootloader when you select you other(s) OS it restarts the pc. simply put the older bootloaders is faster use BCD to change it back
I've not actually tested it but reinstalling the loader from Windows 7 should allow both OS's to boot and both will be activated. If, however, it doesn't work then it'd probably be due to the Windows 8 boot routine.
don't know what you did wrong but i have win 7, xp and now 8 on same HD i also did this on 2 other systems on same HD
