The Build will NOT be 9400, That is a invalid build number, for RTM it HAS to be 9200. Next RTM build number is 10,000 and that breaks the system completely since it's 5 digits.
Another thing I was wondering was, there seems to be empty folders of the windows 7 sound schemes, and if they are going to kill aero, why is the visual style still called aero and aerolite is in the aero folder to.
Anything is possible. But I notice that Microsoft sends a Pre-Release RTM to the manufacturers for testing so if anything like bug fixes need to be applied they will do that. Microsoft doesn't always need to/always do this. So 9200 is most likely the RTM # but the end copy could see a bump from 16384 to 16385. What i've also noticed is that every other Windows version on release is buggy. I'd be surprised if the # does change in the end.
There is already a 9200.16389 compiled on Aug. 1, and there are still people talking about 16385.....lmao
No one can tell for sure. Chill mate, Aug the 15th isnt't far away anymore -> Win8 availability on MSDN. In 6 days you will have a MSDN image in your posession
The final build will be 10000. It will feature aero, the start menu and a new media center. The default background will be a trollface-Ballmer and the startup sound laughs from all Microsoft employees recorded over the Mexican hat dance song. Source: me on drugs. lots, lots of drugs.
You neglected to mention one thing: MS will pay any user running it 100 bucks/year. Boyfriend: MS CorpNet.
I had problems updating to SP1 with Windows 7 16384. While a lot of people were sure that 6.1.7600.16384 is RTM the real thing was 6.1.7600.16385. 6.1.7600.16384 works and activates fine, downloads regular updates, but SP1 can not be installed on it. This may be the same problem with Windows 8?
