Thanks mate, I will try it now and report back:)

Ok, I got 7zip I copied install.swm to another dir then I opened it with 7zp and I copied all dir inside to another dir I only got 2 folders 1 and 2 (name of folders)
Now What I should look for to get oem information that can be used to make an oem windows8!
the rest of install.swm files contain only files like 0 1 2 etc....
How I should convert install.swm to make a windows 8 dvd
    Thank you in advance mate

Recovery dvd's or folder are completely different from Manufacturer OEM installation DVD it will contain $OEM$ folder in sources. Recovery DVD or Folder is usually just and image if your System. You can check windows\ system32\ and see if there is a oobe or oem or pather folder you will need to set folder option to show hidden files and folders.

you right urie, all .swm files are a image of my system of how it looks(should be) after installation. I have oobe and OEM system32 and Panther is in windows folder

I used the 32 bit version of the lenovo archive posted above along with a windows 8 pro + WMC iso I created with the Windows Download Integrator tool using a WMC addon key that you can get for free on MS's website and surprisingly upon first boot windows 8 was activated on my lenovo ideapad netbook.. not sure if this was a fluke/something that MS has fixed by now... going to try it again tonight and will post results

I think that the one who uploaded Lenovo iso has another post that the information are wrong, is it wrong or not?

That also happened to me in a VM, activated upon boot and is still activated. I tried to install it a couple weeks later but looks as if the CD-Key is blocked now. The unattended.xml in the Lenovo archive file contains a CD-Key used as a default product key to be used with OEM Activation 3.0 for Windows 8 Pro.

Why bother? All my HP machines have the logos in "C:\ProgramData\Images" Just copy this folder. It contains all the images in Properties, MC and User Tile. The wallpapers are located in "C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper". It's just the "reg file" which is missing but as it is based on Windows 7, there's plenty of them.

Just share the ProgramData\Images folder and that's it! Thanks :worthy:

My mistake, the complete path is C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\Images
The user tile is located at C:\ProgramData\HP\User

Here are the Compaq images in a windows 8 machine View attachment 20962

    Hi all,

Im looking for a windows 8 oem core iso for Acer, pref. Dutch.
The recovery partitions got deleted and the reseller didnt provide any media with the laptop.

I hope to reinstall and that it will pick up the key in the bios.

    Kind regards,
    Kami.
