    Just one thing, i think this Tool needs a better name :p "Windows 8 Patcher" is way to universal/vague, how would you know what this patches just from the program name? yeah you don't.

    Yep, that would be super easy (just adding a number to the source), but may I ask why anyone would enable testsigning mode? The message there is on purpose.. not worldshaking but I guess the idea of the new Test Mode watermark is that you get to know when a virus like TDL4 enables testsigning mode.

    True story, but see it different: 'Windows 8 Patcher' was always universal, now its bound to my patcher program ;) Feel free to suggest a better name though hehe.

    A name that actually lets people know what is being patched.

    "Windows 8 Patcher" is so incredibly generic name that most of the world will ask "patch what?" I know I did. TCP/IP Patch? Theme Patcher? Patch for what and to what end? etc etc. That is what the world thinks when they see such a vanilla name.

    If I saw this just randomly on the web, I would avoid it completely with the name "windows8 patcher" because the oh-so generic name and size I would immediately think "oh, this is a virus/trojan/rootkit.. I will pass on that rogueware"

    Now, a very concise name such as "Windows 8 Termsrv Patcher & Watermark Remover", everyone and their dog and cats and fish and birds will know what the "patcher" is all about or will be able to easily be able to research before making the decision to download and/or run.

    With such a generic name, your ability to research what one is about to download is extremely limited and will produce more search results that wont even come close to what the end-user is attempting to find out.

    It's about letting the end-user know a bit by the name.
    for example: Cars have model names. So do motorcycles.
    You don't say "I think I wanna buy a new BMW. What kind should i get? Hmm, there is the BMW CAR, and then there is the BMW CAR, and also the BMW CAR..... which one should i choose? If only these cars had model names/numbers....."

    Peter, since you are so good with windows 8, could you do something with win8 cp so that I'll be able to install the amd video driver without the ugly ms basic display adapter?

    Peter, I have been trying to find a way to setup an alternate message instead of the "Remote logins have been disabled", have you seen anything like this that would help me? If anyone is interested the Registry key to change is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
    "WinStationsDisabled"="1"
    1=Disabled, 0=Enabled (very helpful when doing updates to remote workstations!)

    So this will still leave a small bit of the watermark on the developer preview or not?

    No, it will remove everything.

    ===

    @Peter,

    Why Windows version is hidden in System Properties after patching?

    I've just discovered that it says only "©2012 Microsoft Corporation..." under "Windows Edition".

    ===

    @Peter,

    You should ask user to confirm patching by pressing a key like Y!

    And how can I undo patching changes?
