Windows 8.1 - $120 Windows 8.1 Pro - $200 Windows 8.1 Pro Pack - $100 (including $10 media center) Buying Pro outright is $10 cheaper than upgrading? Is this real life? What am I missing here....
To question the obvious; Why don't you just not use Pro? Core isn't gimped like the previous versions of Windows were with Home Basic or Starter. It has the 128GB ram limit same as Pro. The major differences are that you cannot log onto a domain, and without ProWMC you cannot run media center.
Thanks for the input! My opinion on this is about the same as yours. But my question really is if someone buys core and wants to upgrade, its cheaper just to buy the full product, and the Pro Pack is just a M$ scam? I apologize I know this really isn't the place to ask. And I really have no reason to as besides just wanting to know. Or is this information just lost in the cloud somewhere?
