Experience with activation backup restore in Windows 8 pro WMC: Though I put my backup *.dat files in my new install.wim but windows did not activated after installation. Then I have to restore files manually. Finally activated.
i have activated my windows 8 pro with public server during rtm days and i dont remember which server or key used (got keys and instructions from mdl forums) . After wards with ms wmc keys offer ,i converted to retail version .I had backed up the whole store folder .It contains office 2013 pro activation by phone activation.I reinstalld my system with w8pro and activated with kmspico and later activation files were copied to spp by restoring data and token from windows 7 partition. But it doesnt activate activation message : key blocked. Activation details : error code 0xc004F210 ,software licensing reported that the license edition does match the computer edition.
Thanks because you are trying to activate windows 8 pro with a windows 8 pro with WMC key.. You need to convert your current windows 8 iso to include WMC or upgrade your installed version with the Free Key via add features and use telephone activation.
If you copied your data & tokens files as stated, they you will have no issues, suggest that files did not copy.. this works 100%
So which one is correct to use or are they all valid... the post given in the above link... this post by NICK@NUMBER11 on post #4 or the link given by catdog215 on post #19... so many choices... lol
both methods are the same with just some additional like, most important bits are copying over YOUR data & Tokens file and setting YOUR free WMC key!
