Install the IE version of flash, easiest is to grab it from ninite.com Open Chrome, Aboutlugins, Expand details (+) disable Chrome's own flash plugin. Restart Chrome, Voila Not helpful one bit. Microsoft Security Essentials works just fine, thank you.
+1 I really admire those dare devils who install it on their solid HDD, multiboot with the OS('s) they rely so much for every day use.
Format and reinstall is the worst case scenario. I don't see what the big deal is. If you have a way to image the drive you are back up and running within 10 minutes LOL.
Correct, but the point is that you only format and re-install after you aware that you are a victim of bot,worm...whatever. Edit: I believe there are people now checking on the vulnerable points in 7850(it's a M1, there would be plenty) so that they can plant a bot into other people's machines.
Sounds to me like you are a bit paranoid LOL. There are less people running Windows 8 than Mac users.. pointless. Even if you got every 7850 machine out there, it would be one weak ass botnet. Usually people are more afraid of data corruption than malware when beta testing. Anybody who doesn't back up his family pics and then runs a beta OS on it, then loses them deserves to have his wife go postal on him.
Pro Tools 8.0 After installing Pro Tools 8.0 on Windows 8 build 7850 & then restarting the computer I am greeted with the blue screen of death.
Agree on your 2nd point too, but you are a geek and know it well, but I see on many forums that there are plenty average PC users who do not aware of all these potential hazards.
Like Reelfiles I'm also running m1 on a solid hard drive as the solo OS. Feels the same as 7. Got a bsod at the time of install from SEP but then SEP gives bsods on 7 too, lol. I visit all kinds of shady sites but scan regularly with MBAM. But hey all my data is backed up as always.
I dual boot XP with win7, one of the (very few) use of it is to image the win7 every now and then, it's an insurance worth taking.
FaiKee you can create and restore images with a bootable disk like the system repair disk/install dvd or something like ubcd, ghost or hiren. You can save the image on a 2nd partition on the hard drive and also on an external drive as insurance. I mean doesnt quite make sense to dual boot just for making images. I find dual booting a pain.
Tks man, but dual booting is no pain for me, every morning I fire up the machine and take a leak, the win7 is on when I return. Although I have actfax on win7, I still like to use winfax on XP,......to name one of the few (repeat, very few) things I do with XP.
Try Right clicking on the video/Settings/Adobe Flash Player. UNCHECK "Enable Hardware Acceleration." But this seems a widespread problem with most browsers so maybe adobe will comeup with a fix.
Have yet to get a single BSOD on 7 or 8.. must be on your end LOL. Do you mean DEP? No clue about SEP, but down with OPP LOL
