Probably retarded to even ask, but did you try compatibility mode? I had to install my Nvidia Drivers, MSE and some other apps using Win 7 Compatibility on 7955 that didn't need it on 7850.
a new bunch of drivers in 7955... let me explain: with seven(WDDM1.1) my Intel 915 GM video card doesn't support aero...(no wddm driver compiled by Intel) Now magically after install 7955 aero enabled(no way in 7850 or seven) with a general intel grapics driver WDDM 1.2....that's great!! About your problems, i strongly suggest to install always for every graphic card driver in 7 compatibility mode(1.1 different than 1.2) only if 7955 does install in automatic mode. For a lot of devices, of coure will be released new drivers for win8...... so don't panic and try as my suggest! nice goin' fellas ps to all luckily owners of ATI graphic card, i've already argued via E-mai with Ati, that does'not support completely the WDDM 1.1, so imagine 1.2........suggest Ati to trash folder and Invidia....always better!!!
I actually went back to windows 7 - cause of the display issues in 7955. all you had to do was run in compatibility? derp derp/
I have a problem with internet... windows 7/8 doen't have a lan driver and thats the problem. On windows 7 I use my disk for motherboard and install xp driver, after that a have an internet, but with windows 8 show (error 10) something like this and divice doesn't work. I will try tommorow with my last bullet to kill windows 8 and run lan card. I hope everthing to be alright.
Wow, that's gotta be an aging system if you can't get native, or at least Vista, LAN drivers for it. I assume you already tried various compatibility modes and manually installing drivers via Device Manager?
Now on to the next one. Display Issues. I have a 7600 GT and was able to install the drivers, but when I try to go to custom or any resolution above 1280 x 1024, everything is off, and I can't see half of my desktop.
probably your monitor isn't playing nice with 7955,i've been running dual monitors all day on 1920x1080 all day on win8 7955
you should go through all the nvidia drivers for 32-bit for wiin7 to as far back as vista 32 bit,till the drivers feel smooth on your desktop,that's what i did,i was using vista 32 bit drivers on my NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 until i made some adjustments to my resolution with the latest drivers from nvidia.com
I used the latest from the nvidia site for my 9600GT, think it was 270something, but that rig is running 7850 still and will be until we get 7955 sorted. Running 7955 on my i5 lappy, runs dual monitors fine all day.
Hey whats up everyone, I'm totally confused here. I've tried every method, compatibility, Framework 3.5.1, and nothing works, I can never install any ATI driver for my XFire hd 5670. Anyone who succeeded with a similar setup, please give me some insight
