Just did that. But no use. I really want this Skype version very much to chat with Facebook friends from it as Facebook chat is messed up now. I don't want to go back to Windows 7 just because of this.
Did you mean 5.5 Beta? I just checked on Skype website and found nothing about 5.6. The latest version is 5.5.0.115. 5.5.0.110 Beta works on Windows 8. LOL, upgrade to the latest version build 2014 now. Btw, Windows Update works fine for me. I just updated my Windows Defender.
I will not install something in 7989...I wait for that new leak...if not I will downgrade to W7 SP 1 or Ubuntu will be my new Operating System!
