indeed right. but in general from switching from w7 to w8 it is sib. i would love to use cs but the skin and some other minor things don't really match my needs. i already sent feedback but hopeing the best is just not acceptable for me if i have alterntives.
Just tried SIB & must say that it makes Win8 experience pretty pleasant. While I had absolutely no idea how to use Win8 with Metro, now I might as well use Win8 as default OS sebus
The menu in Startisback feels and fuctions just like Win7. But the best part about it is that it doesn't "flash" the Metro screen while loading. This "flashing" happens in all the other replacement menus I tried.
My tool (Bypass Modern UI) also doesn't flash, and the xrm exchange works nearly the same. But with updates this will cause some problems as msft also updates redundant files (unfortunatly) which may bring back modnern ui if explorer.exe is updated. StartIsBack does some interception, which is the clearly the best and softest way.
Ever since I used startisback, Windows 8 has been my Main OS and their is no turning back. Having the metro start menu at the hit of a keystroke is a plus as well.
I only like start 8 , but i don't really recommend any start menu programs, it will just break system files and there is no need for any start button. Because windows 8 is entirely different OS.
Sorry, Sir! But that´s not true, what you´re telling here. Can´t speak for all version, but before finding StartIsBack, i tested some of them, nothing got broken. Mostly only an additional service is installed, afaik only exeption is StartIsBack, which is mostly using native Win 8 code. No system files were modified.
You have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about! Windows 8 is built up from Windows 7, the Start Menu code is still there, and the one Start Menu replacement program that actually hooks into that code is StartIsBack! And, no, none of them break system files!
