I always thought, that MS signature will report breach if you alter single byte of the signed file... ...so it works different? That uxstyle "core" is service exe, while DLLs are unpatched, so I've considered it the safest way... ...so it isn't? I usually enable <F8> key just after install by (I believe that <Shift>+<F8> does nothing on W8): bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy but that time I forgot to do that... ...also I had drive crypted with TrueCrypt, so inserting installation media made no good, because the setup program didn't see any Windows installation to fix... Of course I could decrypt that drive on another computer, then insert Windows Installation DVD and repair it, but it was easier to install new OS, because I always keep system and user data on the separate drive, so if OS collapses I don't loose anything important...
hi, i just downloaded, installed (with administrator permission) UltraUXThemePatcher and restarted my windows (x86), then i changed to custom theme.. but not working.. it still original theme with color changed.. it's so weird
I have a small question for some experienced on Win8 MSStyle themes. Is there any way to correctly add window caption glow effect to the theme? The glow image is stored in theme atlas (PNG STREAM resource) but it does not affect some shell (probably ribbon???) windows e.g. Windows Explorer, Wordpad and similar. If I use Win8 Release Preview as base for my theme then glow is everywhere. But it does not have correct selection rectangle when selecting icon on the desktop (it appears in RP but not in RTM) and only icon text is highlighted with selection background color. Any help? I tried using Windows Style Builder but without success.
Sorry for thread necromancy, but this one seems fitting... Does anyone know the location of the blue hover/select colors in Win8 Explorer? I've replaced almost anything in aero.msstyle and in the registry with monochrome images, but I just can't get rid of that last bit of awful blue:
