I've been 2 months now using Win8 as my main OS No start replacement, I do not miss it at all in fact I have grown completely used to it My PC is stable and fast dose everything that it did when win7 was on it and more, making me 100% happy that I have made the change I still run win 7 on my workshop pc which I would upgrade if the processor supported For me when I go back to using 7 on my other PC I find it simply Old I have just upgraded my partners PC to win8 as well she loves it and had no problems getting used to the new GUI If you are stuck in your ways and cant handle change then stick with 7 If you want something new then move on win8 rocks for me
And the next is comming to tell what to do. I´m using Win 8 without the new UI and still fine with it . Seems some are not able to do as they like but leave others their own way.
It is not directed at you or anyone that chooses to use start is back simply at those PPL who simply are not prepared to give Win8 a fair go In fact i don't give monkeys what OS you or anyone else chooses to use like you I am merely stating my opinion just as you do Shame you so quick to jump in P.S nice to see you to hope you had a good holiday I did
I found on my Windows 8 MS online store aa tool called classic start in tools section so I am wondering,MS knows the need for classic start button...?
My ans will be 1st download all drivers compatible with win8 for your PC,Check if any driver not present & if you are ok with it. Like my p8z68-v-pro gen 3 even can't run Bluetooth driver,so i can't use BT for now. But in future developer may made an driver update. All software are developing update very fast,no you may not find any software compatible issue. If you need a fast Startup & shutdown & overall fast performance go with win8. If really need something that's not working with win8 go for win7
you can cry here that Windows 8 dont have a start button and use whatever program to make it back, and you can use another program to make Windows AERO GLASS back and use 10 other programs to make it look like Windows 7 ... but your better send an e-mail to Microsoft to complain even if they dont care what you think .... ....im glad that you are happy with your semi-hacked frankenbuild Windows 8 with start button and whitout AERO GLASS .. .
Seems you obviously didn´t read my post carefully. No complains about Win 8 itself, but about people trying to tell me how to use it . And again bold letters don´t make it more convincing..... Regards
I like xp, win7 and now win 8 to me win 8 and xp is almost equal performance vice, while win 7 is slower tried passmark performance test 8.0 on a dualboot netbook and result is win 8 has higher score than win 7 & xp. (mostly cpu and ram benchmarks) still trying to figure out if win 8 pro 64bit is better than 32bit or visa versa
And to compare Windows XP with Windows 7 and 8 just about performance is just irrelevant because Windows XP were developed an designed for an completely different bunch of available hardware (in 2000-2002 and further on with the SP's)! And for sure XP will run on todays Hardware much better than ever on 2002 Hardware!
no its not winblows 8 is graphically crippled for a reason do that to win7 and you'll get same performance result
I agree with your sentiment, but logically it cannot be true. Why? Because either Win7 or Win8 is bound to be faster at any given date (and this may fluctuate relative to updates, etc.). So if you say "no, Win8 is not faster" it would be the same as saying "Win7 is faster", or otherwise you would have to say "no, it's not" when people say Win7 is faster But I get what you mean, Win8 is not substantially faster, if faster at all. But it wouldn't be correct to say Win8 is not faster, just like it wouldn't be to say Win7 is faster (or not faster). So let's just say the differences, if any, are at this stage negligible, and that the speediness or sluggishness of the OS is therefore more likely to be perceived due to fresh installs than it being the OS itself that is faster or slower. So to conclude: yes, speed is a bit of a useless discussion where it comes to Win8 and Win7 right now. However, Win7 is due for SP2 while Win8 is just out...
Only if you use hybrid boot. And then, it leaves the file system open, so if you happen to dual boot, you'll see chkdsk more than ever before. If you turn off hybrid boot, it actually boots a lot slower than win7.
