As I've started to run a home server with network shares, the idea of updating my windows to protect those shares seems like an idea worth exploring.

I'm familiar with the basics of MFA and setting them up on a web-server, but that's about it.

Lets say my network shares have two users, one with read/write permissions, and the other with read permissions.

Aside from purposefully entering the wrong password within the credentials manager to force a manual password entry for the read/write user (Windows 10 technique), how can I implement some form of hardened security / MFA to protect access to those network shares within the OS?
