I had a WD Black Laptop HDD (7200RPM) that got 7.2 on WEI on Windows 7. Consistently too.

It's also depend on the SATA Controller which is used/mounted on the MB, special in Laptops and the connection cable.

Acer, which I using some years now, isn't the best in that meaning. I use them because of their excellent Service in Thailand which is in something more important than best quality!

I just don't understand how the beta will be out June 26th if the RTM release date is sometime in the summer

I agree. There either will be a delay to later this year or beta comes out pretty soon for the public

Lets just see how much it upgrades the "Windows Experience" when it hits RTM. Hell, it should be a free upgrade to current Windows 8 Sheep (Especially the ones who payed FULL PRICE) but we all know it wont be :throw:

exactly, public issues are much later than what circles around on the net or even on Technet finally. I myself will wait on it for a clean release this time. I deleted that alpha stuff immediately as this is nothing I can work with. "Page under construction" and stuff like that or store is not working ...
