    I think it's still not announced whether the final 8.1(Blue) upgrade/update will be free to 8.0 license owners.

    When there's a new OS in the wings June is usually the month where we start to see PC makers offering free(?) upgrades to the new OS on current model bought between certain dates.

    What will we see next month offered by the Gold partners?

    no its a bug Windows Vista SP2 beta shows that it is SP3...
    and it could be fixed via a simple registry key change
