I have read in some places that the Public Preview would be available thru Store, this is probably a misunderstanding of the MS announcement(which refers to the win8.1 RTM). MS doesn't encourage users to use a preview as everyday-use OS, so the Preview in June should probably be a stand-alone ISO.
Note: ithome.com(win8china) has clearly said that the above screen-shot is NOT from build 940x, and is a enumerated shot of the start-button on a current win8, but according to them, the actual start-button looks basically the same as in the picture.
Tks Paul, missed that first line because I just returned from China, will keep an eye on Mr. Clown if he tries any thing funny in PCBeta. But.....that OP is not Mr. Clown, I am quite definite. (he was just poking everywhere for "news" to make a fame in PCBeta).
Button is off by default and obviously can be activated. When hovering over it it changes color ... and gets you to the front page instead of searching somewhere in the left bottom corner for a small window to pop up. Was obvious since quite a while and as said: Is not final. So there can be many changes until August
No, it's on by default according to MJF's post, it would be stupid to disable it by default, then users will certainly keep complaining
Actually Thurrott commented that the start button was on by default and could NOT be disabled, at least in the build he seems to be toying around with.
Exactly, I'm curious if these are actual screenshots from an unleaked build, or just mock-ups based on MJF's post about it.
You may wonder why there is no watermark, I guess that's the reason why Thurrott used another wallpaper instead of the default - I remember there was a little trick that you could "push" the watermark down and hide under the task bar.
