okay. ms-7, what is the background of your avatar? That colorful waves - i want to get it without Windows logo. It is pretty nice to use it as app icon.
I know, that's why I want them to admit they have made mistakes and desktops will be around for some time. ICT employees that work on tablets or touchscreens is not going to happen in my believe.
yep, you are certainly right but if only a little bit of truth is in these articles, one can see kind of pattern which might be applied in future issues of Windoze. The idea of what they have printed is quite an interesting way to go just to please the most of customers worldwide.
Actually, the basic concept of metro start screen is very simple: It is a unified home screen for PC, tablet and phone(and maybe Xbox too), so you startup whatever device, you get the same home screen coming up, and you can sync them too, you couldn't do that if win8 uses a start-menu. On a tablet or phone, most of it has one button: the home key(some has 2 more, menu & go-back), so the MS guys thought "LOL, on the PC, the winlogo key is the home key, and we can drop the start orb, just provide a hidden thumbnail as a reserve.", What they didn't anticipated was, there were so many noobs shouting they couldn't find a way to open the start screen, so finally MS has to bend, and bring back the start button......but start menu? Like canouna said, it will never come back, period. People may say, I don't use a tablet or smartphone, I just want the start menu that I have used since win95. Well, sorry, nowadays you are in a very minority group, and it's shrinking fast, MS with the multi-million research branch, just wouldn't give you the slightest damn.
'scared' != 'not useful' The current UI is acceptable only for idiots who use only browser at PC and do nothing more.
This thread is pointless & Boring, Like/Hate/Use Windows 8 - 8.1 WHO CARES, USE the Windows/Linux/Mac you do like, JUST STOP THE BULLSH-T.
I couldn't care less if people like/hate win8, just saying something I've "heard". Don't count me in for the dog-fights.
