Thank you! With the weather app screen open place the mouse in the lower left corner and choose settings, from there go to weather preferences.
i have installed divx and ffshow, matroska splitter and dvbviewer dont work. code not found. only sound. any workaround
Divx worked for me, but not that good. CoreAVC 2.5 (ignore installation errors, run in win 7 compatibility mode) with ac3filter seems to do the trick.
the installation for all codecs run fine but i dont get any picuture on tv only sound. so there is a codec error.
Try the Flash Square preview (the 64-bit flash). If you examine the processes carefully, you'll notice that desktop IE is 32-bit while Metro IE is 64-bit, so you'll need the 64-bit Flash if you want to use it in Metro IE. (Users of 32-bit Windows 8 should not have this problem...)
Microsoft doesn't want you to exit Metro apps. Instead, they have something called "freeze-drying" and "rehydrating". When you switch out of the Metro app to the start screen, the Metro app will continue to run. Once you start or switch to a different app, that running app will be suspended: using only RAM and nothing else. So Microsoft feels that exiting is unnecessary. The obvious problem is task switching, since the suspended apps still show up in Alt-Tab and in the swipe switcher. Also, Windows will close Metro apps that have been idle and suspended for a long time, which further adds to the task switching confusion, since an app that you really intended to switch out of (vs. close) might disappear and you have to go through the app launcher to get it back.
I am an ATI user but everything is working just fine here, all I can say it is missing is a timebomb remover lmfao.
here everything worked fine until reboot the machine. now always displays a message "Automatic Repair" is the second installation which i do but the problem persists. software installed: Office 2010 Nero 10 Security Essentials Charles Web Debug Firefox Chrome Someone is having this problem?
Installed on ASUSG73SW. Work great. Fast, Nvidia drivers beta work. Testing all other drivers and seems working fine. But i cannot find how to use messenger without installing it. If it's like Windows phone 7 it should have something working with that. Anyway seems working good.
Nvidia Driver I installed 285.27-desktop-win7-winvista-64bit-english-beta drivers and they work fine so far. I have 2 7600GT cards in SLI mode. With original driver I could not find a way to enable SLI. Needless to say, perhaps, but my graphics index score went up noticeably. FWIW I am skeptical of this OS as I find it cumbersome to use. Maybe I will feel different after I have 'played' more with it. I am impressed with the IE in metro.. slick.
I'm so confused by this new build, how the hell I'm supposed to shutdown the thing, I've installed it on VirtualBox and there's a load of bugs so I want to install it in Vmware instead but can't find the damn shutdown option anywhere on this new start screen, if this new start screen is on the RTM and Final version, I won't buy Windows 8 ever, I've used windows since version 3.1 and won't ever switch to a damn OS that doesn't allow me to control what runs and what is closed and where the normal things should be, shutdown button is supposed to be in the start menu but its not there.
Hover with your mouse on the bottom left corner and you should get the new "start menu". Then go to settings, click power, and you should be able to shut down from there. Yeah, shutdown is pretty hidden in this build.
Attentionn control panel at power options i found things like that: show sleep, show hibernate...is easy for everyone to handle with all of them
