CTRL+ALT+DEL brings up the new Taskmanager for me. Did you do the old start menu tweak or something? Care to enlighten us?
Might as well go back to an earlier build or Win 7 at that point... :/ Runs fine here. I am getting really used to it, but I am not using many of the native apps. I hope somebody will start making some useful Metro apps and share them somewhere like maybe DeviantArt.
Can anyone install drivers for intel integrated graphics? I'm haveing issues with the ICH7 chipset series. (The driver is actually listed as Mobile Intel 945 Express Family) Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&SUBSYS_30A5103C
Somthing else I noticed. I tried to upgrade my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to the Windows 8 x64 edition w/tools and it says it cannot upgrade windows in a vhd.
I installed Nvidia Drivers 275.33 WHQL . Working fine without any reboot needed. Nvidia control panel all options there. Tried Avast Free... Does not install. Have read that MS will integrate his own antivirus (not install), but we don't know if it is there in that build.
I dunno, I don't see the point of beta testing if you're gonna kill the new features. It's funny how everybody was complaining when the new UI was locked in older builds but now they wanna kill it off Afaik Win 8 doesn't support ANY upgrade scenarios from Win 7 for now. I did hear that you will be able to upgrade the DP to beta and RC though but I believe a clean install would probably be more reliable.
I have installed Intel Drivers for my Z68XP Gigabyte mobo (i52500k) from Gigabyte website. No glitch. The HDMI output works fine.
Does anyone know if you could force windows to allow you to have the side by side apps on an unsupported resolution?
For me, you can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8! Everything got transfered over except for the programs. Most of the settings and docs etc. where on Windows 8. Also, if you disable Metro, it does bring the look back to Windows 7 but for me it seems insanely faster and snapier, and there are also a bunch of added small settings and things throughout the system that are incredibly useful.
I just installed XP Mode through Hyper-V, but can't get the resolution to match fullscreen and it is limited to 16bits Gonna try if the driver from Virtual PC does better..
i installed avira free edition with only a minor glitch.after installing, the downloading of new files and update failed at first, but it updated okay later(using 64 bit edition of windows)
