Same issue here. I can slide the slider off for UAC, but it's still enabled (in the sense that, stuff still requires you to right click to Run as Admin, instead of automatically doing it)

 

as well again i dont know if this has been found but how i seem to have it completely disabled is i went to the user settings and slid the slider like normal but then i opened regedit and changed this key, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System , from 1 to 0. Then i rebooted. Now programs that had the shield on it before and still prompted me the shield magicly dissapeared and no more bugging.

 

Try to turn off windows defender too.

 

Took a little getting used to, but the metro SM is growing on me. One thing I can't figure out is how to add tiles (not pin applications). I'm pretty sure it is done by using the menu on the right side of the screen with the "charms", but I can't figure out how in the world to open it. I am not using touch gestures, but keyboard and mouse. Any help is greatly appreciated!

 

why some of apps, like Weather, Socialite, RSS, Ink pad, Sudoku don't work? I run them and it just show me a "green ground". I installed Win8 on a VHD.

Awesome, this seemed to of worked. Btw, the actual key is EnableLUA or something like that (changed from 1 to 0, and as soon as I changed it, I think Action Center popped up and said I had to restart to disable UAC)

When I updated my Win7 to this release, I couldn't get the metro apps to run also so I did a clean installation and now I am able to run every app except store..

 

what kind of disk you installed windows 8 on?

Wow Awesome it worked thanks so much guess disabling UAC is not enough you need to regedit to completely turn it off hope this is fixed by release.
