I just built an ISO with the following steps: Took French Windows 8 Pro 32 bit and extracted it, then integrated English language pack. Took French Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and extracted it, then integrated English language pack. The language packs were downloaded using the built in method of the integrator. Used the AIO tool to combine the above 2 images. Then use the ISO tool to convert the 32-bit (merged image) into ISO. I tried installing the 64bit English version with my ISO, however, when the installation is half way, I get an error saying "Windows could not set the offline locale information. Error Code: 0x80000001. I then did some testing by making a French Windows 8 Pro 32-bit and added the English Language pack. I then turned this into an ISO using the ISO tool and tried to install using it. Same error occurs. And the strange thing is that if I close and restart the integrator, and then browse to the folder containing the modified image, it no longer detects the added language in the image. It only detects the original image. This seems to point that the installer is faulty. Is this perhaps a bug with the integrator?
Call that Froggie Installer Error Edition... ***************************************************** @All Hey guys, please WHERE Download integrator stores its output? I just made ISO by oscdimg command from ADK from "Extracted directory AFTER integration was done" (window that it took 1:30 sec), but result has no updates and lng packs integrated and install.win is slightly different, but only by few bytes... ...after the install, the only difference, that I can't use "Download and Install lngPack" option in \Control Panels\Languages (no window will appear)... where are the integrated files or ISO stored? ))
Don't know what you guys are doing wrong, tested this in multiple languages.. The working folder for WDI is %TEMP% Thanks, in response to your post in Josh's thread I will be adding SP integration options in new release..
Yep, that is visible in settings, by clicking on that hidden rectangle in the upper left corner, but final compilation of files (or ISO?) isn't stored there. Or is it?
You select your own save to location for ISO/AIO, anything downloaded will be placed in corresponding folders residing alongside WDI.. When selecting your setup folder/install.wim (that is the location for any final output). To enable/disable features (use the turn windows features on or off option).
Ok, so I have narrowed my problem down a bit more. It seems that adding a language pack to x64 versions of Windows 8 breaks the installer. What I did is: Extracted French Windows 8 64-bit Use the WDI and integrate 64-bit US English. Use ISO tool to convert image to ISO. Install in VMware. When files are copied, I get "Windows could not set the offline locale information. Error Code: 0x80000001." The issue is that the 64-bit original ISO installs perfectly by itself, but once I added the language pack, it starts breaking. Any ideas?
And just a bit more info, I am using Windows 8 Pro 64-bit French ISOs. The language pack I am adding is English (US) which is also downloaded using WDI (as a .cab).
@Alphawaves: I think I found the source of the problem! When I was downloading the language packs, the x64 English Language pack was half downloaded, and then I cancelled. I then started downloading the x64 English and x86 Language pack. The x64 English Language pack was downloaded and I was using that one. Maybe because of the cancelling and redownloading, it got corrupted. I deleted the x64 English LP and redownloaded it and it seems to be fine. Maybe for the Language pack downloading, it would be nice if you make it overwrite any previously downloaded bits, maybe even delete the previous file with the same name and start from scratch.
