You can try to copy it from Windows XP system to POSReady 2009 or use Defraggler.

If anyone is interrested about posready 2009 recovery images, please pm me :). I have discovered four *.gho images and one *.wim image.

Guys, once you have POSReady 2009 installed on a USB (not USB install medium, but actual working OS), how do you make a backup copy that will work on any subsequent USB flash drive regardless of the size of the drive? Is it as simple as copying all files (hidden + system) and reassigning the drive's id/signature to match the original one?

Why not use drive image software (Ghost, Acronis, Macrium etc)

You'll never know if they'll introduce some nasty stuff during the backup/restore process, which is why I always prefer to do it manually if I can.

I've had enough viruses and trojans to know not to trust anyone except Microsoft, WinRar, and the old Opera browser (Presto engine), and not even FireFox...

Well, I am using an OS made by them. I also have an email account with them which they can probably access at their whim. But that is beside the point. I'm supposed to be more trusting of [software churned out by] another company, such as Google to run on a Microsoft ecosystem...

Well it seems you don't trust anybody so why trust anybody here at MDL that will try to help you.

sebus has given you good suggestions on what to do but you don't trust his suggestions:confused:

I have always wondered why people ask questions for help and them will not accept the help given. So why ask. :hummer:

You said you had enough viruses and trojans. Well maybe you should start trusting somebody to keep you out of harms way. Sounds to me your not doing to good on your own!!

    Anyway good luck!

I give up. Nobody here technically savvy enough to know how to clone XP manually. I'm inclined to believe archiving the entire drive via WinRAR, which also includes hidden and system files, and noting the disk/drive signature should work. But, with my limited knowledge of XP and OSes in general, it feels like I might be missing something...

    mountain, mole hill.

Imaging the drive, is cloning it. You can even turn a physical machine into a vm with the same software that clones/images/backs up/repairs and 100 other things if you dare. I cant imagine a company being around very long that claims to help backup your drives and then add their own love touch to it. That is ridiculous to even claim "You'll never know if they'll introduce some nasty stuff during the backup/restore process" and even more preposterous to believe!

Hi. I have one question related to Multilingual User interface packs and the Windows Update. Suppose that there is one machine with POSready 2009 installed on it. After the installation the system is completely in english language. After opening the windows update we can see that everything is also in english eg. information about updates, descriptions and so on. After installing the MUI pack, language changes to this installed before eg. to Polish. After checking Windows update everything also changes to polish. My question relates primarily to Which language version of the updates are installed in such case, taking into account the fact that main os is in english and the MUI is only an language overlay. Could someone tell me how to manage the POS ready with MUI installed? Should I switch into english every time I install updates or not?
I hope you understood me? Sometime it's not so easy to clearly explain the problem :)
