I've been running the VLK for about a month now with no issues. Love WHS so much that I'm building a 40TB server now for it. Also looking forward to the next version of WHS later this year.
Yeah it will run whs and store my media collection and pc backups. Ordering a Norco 4220 case this week. It will be the new heart of my Home Entertainment system. The server will contains all my pictures, music, TV, and movies shared to all pc's in the house and my htpc. I currently use a dell server that I've outgrown and only have a fraction of my media on now. Power consumption won't be bad. I'm switching 3 pc's over to atom based systems with lower power consumption and at idle the server shouldn't be too bad on the meter.
i've read the tutorial several times and have used winISO to replace and edit the files in the ISO. when i install, it accepts my VLK and gets to the final step "Finalizing Installation" and throws an error... "Istalling Windows Home Server failed: The file can not be accessed by the system (error code 0x80070780)." no clue what happened. i thought i might have inserted the code in the [addreg] section in the wrong place. the instructions say to add it to the end of the last [addreg] section. the last one is technically blank, at least for several thousand lines, then has a bunch of stuff at the very bottom. i clicked through the error and restarted and it starts the install back up where it left off and throws the error again. any ideas? I'm dyin' here!
