Hello, I have been conteplating updating to windows 10 from w7 so i thought id go on and do it since its nearing its end anyway. Many years ago I used removewat to make w7 not show the not genuine message anymore. Now i want to use windows loader 2.2.2 to make it genuine so i can upgrade to w10 without losing my data. The problem is even after removing removewat or using wat fix, windows loader won't work. It keeps saying status notification and nothing happens after reboots. A little help needed.
It's true. There have been situations where WAT cannot be restored. Is Your Windows 7 now OK, is the WAT now OK? If it all is checked and it's OK, I'd recommend check also Windows files using sfc.exe /scannow and if it is also OK, try again, but do it all in administrator privileges, ie run as administrator. And finally, do you still have the right DAZ, not some fake ersats?
How do i check whether the wat is ok. Yes it seems genuine, i got it from the reddit r/piracy megathread Also i did mgadiag and sfc/scannow it came up with Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Tbh im kinda new to all this and i dont even now if im doing windows loader correctly or if there might be an alternative. What part of @LostED his post don't you understand? Those are the support threads for DAZ Windows Loader. That's the place to ask and read.
All is already documented on MDL, many times. After using the worst fake activation tool like removewat, reinstall.
When I used removewat I must have been 13 or 14. So sorry if i look like a complete idiot but most probably I was. Now I need to keep my data so Im trying to find a way to fix my f**k up. Also as I said Im completely new, so even if its well documented, i dont understand half of everything. Im just looking for help not criticism
Hello @tedi1997 and welcome to the MDL forums - Have you tried using MBR Regenerator by Josh Cell? Based on what I've read in the release notes, your system sounds like a candidate. The link is here:https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/mbr-regenerator-the-professional-windows-fix-tool.24214/ After running MBR Regenerator, reboot and run the genuine Daz Loader. Just be sure to disable any antivirus programs before unpacking and running it.
The judgement was not aimed at you, the user, but the fakeness of the "activation" it did, iirc, @Daz once told me, when became staffmember here, the first thing he did was deleting that tool
Gotcha, sorry man. I just feel like s**t right now because its almost a terrabyte of data I cant save. I have Win 7 ultimate so now its causing even more trouble. Im even contemplating getting one of those 2 dollar keys just to fix this s**t. I don't know what else to do at this point. Im looking at a sort of validation which might help but idk how to do that.
Hello @tedi997 - Glad to hear it worked. Now that you're successfully activated, think about using Josh Cell's Advanced Tokens Manager to backup your activation files. That way, if you ever run into a major problem and need to do a clean install, you'll be able to restore the files and your activation status.
