HAL7600 totally broke my system and stopped any .exe files from running so I did a full format and it's all working now :)

Had same problem - heres the answer / solution

hard disk is in GPT format which is the new standard, you need to

enter the bios disable uefi and enable legacy(not sure if this is necessary but iut definitelyt helped)

and you definiotely need to boot from ther windows dvd into command prompt
    run diskpart
    select the volume
    run the "clean" command
    "convert to mbr"
    reinstall windows
took me a few tries to work it out but worked flawlessly

I could not get this solution to work for me. Here is what I did:
-Went into BIOS, disabled secure boot, and Enabled Legacy boot.
-Booted to valid windows 7 disk, clicked repair, and opened up the command prompt.
-typed diskpart, selected disk 0, cleaned it, and typed convert to Mbr (all steps appeared to be successful)
-rebooted and booted back to the CD again to perform a fresh install of win7 on the drive.

Still getting unsupported partition table from Windows Loader 2.2.1.

Not sure if I missed anything, but I can not seem to get this to work at all. My laptop is a HP Pavilion G6-2337us. If anyone has any other suggestions before I give in to this thing, it would be appreciated. Thanks!!

When I pull up the boot menu I don't see an option to boot the disk without UEFI. I am currently downloading a copy of my win7 ISO from Microsoft as well as the win7 USB DVD tool to convert the ISO to USB install and will attempt the step you suggested.

Thank you for the suggestion. :)

    Edit:
Thank you Daz! Loading win7 to a USB flash drive and deleting bootmgr.efi worked perfectly! Thank you very much for the tip, I very much appreciate it!

Good thing I read through this hijacked thread. I don't know if the OP's question ever got answered. I was going to ask if it was possible the raid array got broken when deleting partitions and/or in the process of installing Windows 7.

Hi guys - I'm new here. I've joined the forum to firstly, thank Daz for his great work on the loaders, to thank all the others who've contributed to this thread (which I've pored over, the last 24 hours) and finally - to add a few cents worth to the info here.

This IS about Daz's loader, so bear with me while I flesh out the preliminaries.

I'm a PC builder and tech who recently decided it was about time to get another laptop for typing Word stuff mostly. I didn't want to spend large so bought an HP 14 D054TU notebook that was on special. The OS was W8.1 (which I didn't want) but the HP site showed W7 64bit drivers to be available, so I ordered it online, thinking to reformat the drive and install W7.

After the notebook arrived (and before I'd examined it closely), I decided it'd be safer to pull its hard drive and replace it with a spare, so if I screwed the operation I'd still have the original to fall back on. But when I took another look I was kinda dismayed to find that I had to pull the case apart to change hard drives. Yeah, that's right - no separate access panel for the HDD. Damn! So that added a few hours. Anyway, got it done eventually and installed and formatted an old 160GB Sata II drive. (It'll probably stay there now - too much trouble to split the case again)

Next, I tried to do my usual W7 install from my multi-choice DVD\Daz Loader combo that I've used for several years. However, I was lazy and didn't check the BIOS before I started (which of course turned out to be UEFI) so after the W7 install finished and I tried to use the loader, I got the dreaded "Unsupported Partition Table" message, which brought me here to My Digital Life.

After reading this thread in detail it seemed like my only option was to use Diskpart, as per Daz's instructions, to change the GPT to MBR then do a reinstall. I used a bootable W7 repair disk (created within another running W7 system) to access the command line Diskpart sequence. No prob.

It also seemed like a good opportunity to vary my install method from DVD to flash drive. Only problem was I needed an ISO file to do this, and as we've just moved house, I had no idea where to find the original W7 ISO that I'd used to create my DVD.

Turned out that part was easy - Tim Fisher's excellent HowTo (I'll post the link if anyone wants it) told me to use Burnaware to create an ISO from the DVD, so that was a breeze. However, the next part - loading the ISO to the flash drive - wasn't so simple. Daz had mentioned using Microsoft's ISO-to-USB converter, plus Tim Fisher had another detailed HowTo about that, so tried it. Didn't get too far, though - the M$ converter just said 'Not a valid ISO' when I pointed to my freshly built ISO file, so that was that.

However, another Tim Fisher HowTo said that 'Rufus' was a great app to do the ISO-to-USB conversion, so I did and that was a real breeze. Then I opened the flash drive and deleted bootmgr.efi.

By this time I thought I had it made, but nope. When I booted from the flash drive, it got as far as allowing me the usual choice of W7 flavors, then I got the message 'A required CD\DVD device driver is missing. If you have a floppy, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, insert it now'. Say what? There was a Browse button and I used it to peer inside the flash drive, but I had no idea where to find this driver, if indeed it was actually there, or even needed. So I gave up and went back to the DVD install.

Finally - finally....I got the job finished and my Daz-powered (2.2.2) W7 was able to get all the Windows updates I wanted. BTW, beware of 905474, 949810, 971033, 977175, 2524375 and 2533552. If you're offered them, un-check them, then right click and select 'Hide'. Note, however, that later versions of W7 installers than mine, probably already have these troublesome updates inbuilt, which is why I prefer my 3\4 year-old W7 DVD, as I can refuse those when I see them. Note also that there is a complicated way to uninstall those 'uninstallable' updates, but it's beyond the scope of this post.

Thanks again Daz and guys :)

    Cheers

PS: If anyone has any insights about M$ disliking my ISO, or the failure of the flash drive install due to the silly driver thing - please comment!

Nimbus2000: Hey thanks for that! I think you nailed it. It never occurred to me that there may be a conflict over USB 2 and 3, but that's what must have happened - the new laptop has a single USB port on the left side, which I used for the install and which must be the 3.0. There are two others on the right side - I guess these'll be USB 2.0.
    Cheers :D

    Hi guys,
I have Win 7 64bit Ultimae (7601) installed on my ASUS notebook (Board X551CAP). I tried to use the loader by DAZ 2.2.2. It was succesful but after reboot it was not able to reboot.
I fixed that with the reboot to USB Win install disk (as described in the readme), ran cmd prompt and fixed the boot.
Then I rebooted to win 7 succefully but the win was not activated.
I ran the WAT fix succesfully and rebooted back to win (still not activated).
When I ran again the Windows Loader by DAZ, it said "unsupported partition table".
I checked the disk - it is MBR.
In BIOS I don't see any option of (non-)UEFI/security boot, no such options.

Any ideas what can be wrong, what should I do, any hint?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello, I need some help activating my windows 7. I created a partition from my hard-drive to install windows, it gave me an error that it wasn't a GPT before I installed it. But I went ahead and did it anyways. Just installed a few drivers needed, Video Drivers, Graphic Drivers, and still looking for a wifi driver. I downloaded Loader 7 and ran it as administrator and it gave me this error. I have an Asus laptop that came pre-loaded with Windows 8, I don't want to install Windows 7 over it so I created this partition. To install windows 7 I had to enable CSM, and disable secure boot mode, it's currently in those settings too. What can I do to install Loader 7 on this partition? Thanks.
