Basically it is a 'frankenbuild', it uses a token.dat from another edition, chance with this approach is you will get 'unactivated' installing future updates
My experience with Windows 7 Loader XE, it does more harm then good. Anyway, don't think single updates other than ones directly related to activation will harm, I was more thinking Service Pack wise. (SP2, if/when it comes out)
I don't get why the serial was accepted before, unless it's because you've previously used XL which changes system files first. If FreeStyler is right then it's not activation, it's hacktivation which means it's not safe and you're at risk of Windows updates making you go non-genuine. That's why we don't allow XL to be posted here as it makes a mess of systems that want real genuine activation. If I was to support hacktivation then I would bet that within a month or two Microsoft would release a WAT update that would make a lot of the people using this method go non-genuine. EDIT: 1) The loader was added and no serial gets installed 2) Opa Tool does nothing and fails to install the key 3) XL modifies system files and installs the key The result is a PC that has it's activation system in a mess and is extremely easy to detect.
I totally agree with you and freestylers point. I just tested the method. I also tried to enter both keys before using 7 loader extreme with the [FONT="] slmgr.vbs -ipk [/FONT] cmd. and it would not take either serial. There is a reason the 7 loader extreme tool was removed from MDL and I respect that. Since I already had the ISO downloaded I thought I would follow through with what I said. So I tested it since I had the test server ready. Not my choice of activation the pitfalls are obvious. I will test again when we get a proper oem key. I do however appreciate the time put in by all on the thread.
