Windows Server 2008 as KMS Activation Server

    Hi do you know how to make Windows Server 2008 act as KMS server? I know I need some KMS key (which I don't have) (can I use other activatinon methods like Windows Loader?) to make Server act as KMS one.

    I would need this to activate Microsoft Office 2010 on ubuntu (using wine) so Microsoft Office 2010 Toolkit isn't an option.

    I know there is KMS Micro which is Core Server 2008 in Qemu so I can't convert 2008 Server Core to Full GUI or convert .rom file on which files are stored to more friendly format like .wmdx so Vmware could read it)

    So the only option for me is to start with fresh Full GUI installation of Server 2008 (R2)

    PS: what key do I need so I could activate office 2010 via this server? (will XXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXX work) (I have VL edition installation iso)

    Hi,

    I would recommend to use slave77s S-M-R-T JATDevice.
    See under: MDL Projects and Applications --> KMS tools --> slave77s S-M-R-T JATDevice
    This installs a kms emulator.
    Very easy to install and use.
