HP disks are KNOWN to run the check, thay are NOT just plain disks (usually they are HP bastardized)

Yes, correct, thay are specifically designed to work with HP hardware only (I do not see anything wrong with it)

Can the bios be modded? I guess I could use the Dell version but I don't want any issues if I purchase rdp licenses for it.

 

Thanks Sebus, I was able to install the Dell iso without any mods to the motherboard. Then just activated it with the HP oem (Microsoft) key. All is good now.

 

Well, it is Dell supplied disk, not Dell bastardized one. The only difference from plain OEM is just key & certificate
HP disk does not check BIOS alone, I believe, but actual motherboard etc

I believe it is possible to "re-do" HP disks, but it is simply a pain (I remember it was painfull reading about how it can be done)

I like you FreeStyler and all, but you closed one of my thread because I asked for a OEM-SLP key to Office 2010 Starter, and here you ask for a OEM key to Server 2008 R2!! Can a moderator ask for a key, but not a normal user?

Ugh.. I know this people are posting about R2 Here but maybe someone could help me out with Foundation Server R1. I purchased a IBM OEM cd/license awhile back and went to install it on a dell server today. Of course it says this is not IBM hardware and won't install. Does anyone have a non-locked OEM or dell oem ISO I could use? I assume my purchased cdkey will be valid, I just need media to install it.

 

Upload the media & we can see what can be done (I am sure the lock can be removed)

That would be normal OEM media/license (not SLP)
Checked disk & there is nothing anywhere, sorry
