Awesome You, my friend, are a saint. I actually did this by selecting "Per User" as well instead of per machine... Well done!
Ok, found the trick. When using the " Do It yourself " page, if you want Windows 2008 R2, do not select " Windows 2008 R2 VDI " etc, but select " Windows 2008 R2 RDS Per Device CAL or Windows 2008 Per Device Cal ", and you should be able to active it.
Please 50 Device CAL Last / Surname: "test" First / Given Name: "test" Company: "test" Country/Region: United States Product ID:00486-006-1940707-20150 Server ID: M2M7P - JQ6JY - V424X - TYTCB - 9H82B - R6YD4 - R7QG4 Thanks
Any recent updates/developments on whether the "Do it yourself" method works for SBS 2011 Cal's ? ... I'm interested in putting together an SBS Box and just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks
Windows Server 2008 Device / User CALs (20) is available in MSDN Subscription based on your sub. level.
Hi, just one question, I should work on a Windows 2008R2 Foundation?? I strongly believe that the steps are not the same?? It's possible that step 3: SERVER Go to the Terminal Server Licensing, Right-click on Terminal Server >Properties > Installation Method: Select Installation Method "Web Browser" Doesn't work in the same style with foundation R2 Server? Thanks in advance.
Has anyone tried to use activate.microsoft.com to generate CALs for Server 2012 or is the method described in this thread no longer valid? Thanks.
Replying to myself I can now confirm that the process outlined in this thread works for Windows Server 2012!!! Whoopty Doo Daa
Is there an official guide to CAL's activation? The first page of this thread doesn't have anything concrete. Maybe someone can post one? Thanks
