I selected activate licensing server and it just asked me for my agreement number and first name last name etc., from there I just put in the agreement number and selected the number of CALs I needed.
You used "auto" method, but I used "Web Browser" method as suggested. And there's that auth problem stated. Anyway I've activated it by opening internet access and using "auto" method. Then I've installed my corp licenses from 2003 server and it's working
dont think this works any more, keep getting the licence information provided is invalid when trying to get CAL's
I really need a word on this too. Does this method work/is it still working for Windows Server 2008 R2? I am about to deploy a workstation to allow for about 5-6 concurrent remote desktop connections and/or RemoteApp connections but first I have to be sure I will be able to get a permanent license for all the clients. Is a CAL still needed for RemoteApp-only connections? Will this method work for this situation? My alternative is installing Windows 7 x64 instead, allowing multiple concurrent remote desktop sessions via RDP cracking and publishing RemoteApps using known registry hacks. What do you guys think about this?
mdodig, please let us know your results. I'd rather not go through the whole process of installing Windows Server 2008 R2 just to discover it will not work with multiple remote clients...
Activation of Remote Licensing server was succesfull, but couldn't activate CALs "The licensing agreement data provided to Microsoft is not valid. Check all the information you provided and make necessary corrections, and then resubmit your request. "
Same to me I try to get a licens today but I get the same error like mdodig. I got a license 7 month before without any problems, BUT a had to reinstall my server, so.... what a s**t.. Is there a possibility to import the working licenses from the old server installation? I could access the vhd over diskpart but the vhd is unable to boot.
Maybe you guys might try one of these termsrv.dll patches: h**p://thegreenbutton.com/forums/t/79427.aspx h**p://deepxw.blogspot.com/2009/04/universal-termsrvdll-patch.html I've been using the first one in my Windows 7 x64 machine and it works like a charm. If they work in Windows Server as supposed, you might as well be able to ditch the Remote Licensing Server...
AFAIR, licensing agreement ## for CAL work only if you select USA during activation. It used to work for any country some time ago.
can we get an update on this from someone that has succeded in the last month or so? I tried this today and it didnt work, got this: "The licensing agreement data provided to Microsoft is not valid. Check all the information you provided and make necessary corrections, and then resubmit your request. " and I did try a few different select agreement numbers I found on google...
Same boat here. Really trying to get a workaround for TS licensing. Please PM or post here solution if you have one.
Anyone know wher I can get a select license agreement number from, been googling it all day with no joy!
