    Brano, NO you cannot install another BIOS. Ok, motherboards contains CPU (Central Processing Unit) like INTEL or AMD Pentium IV, Dual Core ,etc, chip sets (semiconductors knows as integrated circuits) and glue logic, etc,etc. All of these form a system and depending which manufacturer has designed the board he or she would have done it in a way that then the BIOS is written to accomodate that specific OEM (ASUS, DELL, HP, INTEL). Yes, the use INTEL or AMD CPU's and chip sets but implementation as a total system level is unique within those brands and models.
    Say, Porsche 911 are all the same, Bentley's have wheels and go but the design in different though both are cars.
    BIOS=Basic Input Output System address the CPU's ,chipsets , glue logic,etc,etc, at start up and makes the system to work. In a very rough explanation.
    CPUS and semiconductors have leads and memory addresses to talk to and this is a very complex issue which I have not got the great knowledge.

    In other words an INTEL motherboard with INTEL BIOS there is no way you can put an AMI on top of it, just like that.

    For what I have seen so far here it seems that AMI (American Megatrends Inc) are the easiest BIOS to modified and brands like ASUS (who originally used AWARD.........a much better BIOS but ........long live to AMI in our case, easy to MOD.....thanks to GREAT ANDY) and MSI carry them.

    Well, hope you can understand what I am saying. I cannot find another way right now to write in a different way neither want to do a book (I have no enough knowledge).
    Cheers

    I have been looking inside the pkeyconfig.xrm-ms file and found these:

    Windows Server 2008 Standard without Hyper-V OEM SLP (ServerStandardV)
    Code:
    <pkc:Configuration>
    <pkc:ActConfigId>{0e18c71e-3a85-4063-b380-419652de3733}</pkc:ActConfigId>
    <pkc:RefGroupId>150</pkc:RefGroupId>
    <pkc:EditionId>ServerStandardV</pkc:EditionId>
    <pkc:ProductDescription>Windows Server 2008 Standard without Hyper-V OEM SLP</pkc:ProductDescription>
    <pkc:ProductKeyType>OEM:SLP</pkc:ProductKeyType>
    <pkc:IsRandomized>false</pkc:IsRandomized>
    </pkc:Configuration>
    Windows Server 2008 Enterprise without Hyper-V OEM SLP (ServerEnterpriseV)
    Code:
    <pkc:Configuration>
    <pkc:ActConfigId>{d063c01b-b1c3-442c-8cc4-4be55a1a01df}</pkc:ActConfigId>
    <pkc:RefGroupId>150</pkc:RefGroupId>
    <pkc:EditionId>ServerEnterpriseV</pkc:EditionId>
    <pkc:ProductDescription>Windows Server 2008 Enterprise without Hyper-V OEM SLP</pkc:ProductDescription>
    <pkc:ProductKeyType>OEM:SLP</pkc:ProductKeyType>
    <pkc:IsRandomized>false</pkc:IsRandomized>
    </pkc:Configuration>
    Windows Server 2008 Datacenter without Hyper-V OEM SLP (ServerDatacenterV)
    Code:
    <pkc:Configuration>
    <pkc:ActConfigId>{f209258f-33ca-4a14-a45c-5cafa7259ab5}</pkc:ActConfigId>
    <pkc:RefGroupId>150</pkc:RefGroupId>
    <pkc:EditionId>ServerDatacenterV</pkc:EditionId>
    <pkc:ProductDescription>Windows Server 2008 Datacenter without Hyper-V OEM SLP</pkc:ProductDescription>
    <pkc:ProductKeyType>OEM:SLP</pkc:ProductKeyType>
    <pkc:IsRandomized>false</pkc:IsRandomized>
    </pkc:Configuration>
    pkeyconfig.xrm-ms lists all possible product key configurations, for all the different SKUs.

    All editions of Server 2008 "without Hyper-V" are considered different SKUs than the regular Server 2008 editions, and thus require different OEM:SLP keys than the ones already found.
    I suggest these editions to be added to the list and encourage people to start looking for these keys (and share them :D ).

    I have also found these:

    Windows Web Server 2008 OEM SLP (ServerWeb)
    Code:
    <pkc:Configuration>
    <pkc:ActConfigId>{bab219ac-3f91-4cdc-8339-b643cbdd6c49}</pkc:ActConfigId>
    <pkc:RefGroupId>150</pkc:RefGroupId>
    <pkc:EditionId>ServerWeb</pkc:EditionId>
    <pkc:ProductDescription>Windows Web Server 2008 OEM SLP</pkc:ProductDescription>
    <pkc:ProductKeyType>OEM:SLP</pkc:ProductKeyType>
    <pkc:IsRandomized>false</pkc:IsRandomized>
    </pkc:Configuration>
    Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-Based Systems OEM SLP (ServerEnterpriseIA64)
    Code:
    <pkc:Configuration>
    <pkc:ActConfigId>{766d0cf7-accb-4fe9-b9a0-b4bfa8ae7550}</pkc:ActConfigId>
    <pkc:RefGroupId>150</pkc:RefGroupId>
    <pkc:EditionId>ServerEnterpriseIA64</pkc:EditionId>
    <pkc:ProductDescription>Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-Based Systems OEM SLP</pkc:ProductDescription>
    <pkc:ProductKeyType>OEM:SLP</pkc:ProductKeyType>
    <pkc:IsRandomized>false</pkc:IsRandomized>
    </pkc:Configuration>
    These are all the Server 2008 editions that accept OEM:SLP keys and are missing from the list. Should be added as well.

    Brano, 2 things:

    1) For INTEL motherboard use the WoW loader so this way you can still run Vista activated.This is a "loader" in the MBR that is quite safe and invisible and EMULATES the SLIC process. For INTEL there is no other way that I know or others, I think.

    2) For ASUS and as chianf092 said the tool you found is ok. That tool created by ANDY injects the proper SLIC info in the AMI BIOS. I have done this in 3 of the 9 machines I have home and they work sweet.

    Why?! It's a "common knowledge", that OEM:SLP keys for Vista/Server2008 are brand-independent (work with any proper slic-cert pair), although each key origins from a certain brand of course...

    Why is it that you want the web server key? The enterprise version contains all of the web server stuff [and more]!

    Why not?

    What if one doesn't need more, instead prefer less, like less services that run in the background, less methods to be compromised, If you just want to run a webserver, there is no need for Active Directory, Terminal Services etc etc...
