Maybe stupid question but what slic and cert do i need to use i 'm new to it Just start to study net administrator,... and does some one have a key for server core????

Dumb question here, but am I to assume that the 2008 certs also work for 2008 R2? From what I can understand of this thread, I just needed the R2 key for install, in addition to the 2008 certs (Dell) and my previously modded SLIC 2.1 bios (Dell).

EDIT: I answered my own question. Yes WS 2008 R2 does work with the WS 2008 certs.

You of course are running slmgr from elevated command prompt? (one that is runas administrator)

i ran as Admin by Start-->Accessories-->Command Promt-->right click -->Run as Administrators.

I had no problems with Dell cert. You are using Asus, so the problem is in that.

 

Eventhough my Bios is Asus, but I was also gave a try to install Dell slic 2.1 and Cert last night, i was still getting the same error, unless this key requires Dell Bios. I am going to re-try it now. Thanks for helps.

 

Of course it does. Use Dell BIOS and Cert. I think it is well known fact that BIOS and Cert must match.

 

Your post is very misleading, do NOT flash your BIOS with anything but the BIOS designed for it, however insert the DELL 2.1 SLIC bin file into your bios using the appropriate tool then use the matching certificate.
